Incorporating a quick geometry lesson, hypotrochoids and epitrochoids are curves formed by tracing a point attached to a circle rolling along the inside or outside of a fixed circle, respectively. Spirographs leverage this concept to craft mesmerizing geometric patterns.

The MADBALL Dyna WDT Tool employs 10x, 0.35mm diameter pins to trace numerous hypotrochoids and epitrochoids through the clumpy espresso in your 53mm and 54mm portafilter basket. This mechanical motion swiftly distributes and fluffs the grounds, ensuring consistency regardless of the hour.

With a groundbreaking gear design, the MADBALL Dyna WDT Tool efficiently mixes, distributes, and fluffs the grounds in your portafilter in just four spins. Three distinct gears collaborate seamlessly for optimal performance. The big gear moves the pins back and forth across the basket, scrambling and mixing the grounds. The medium gear whirls around the entire basket, effortlessly slicing through any clumps in its path. The small gear pushes and pulls the grounds near the edge, ensuring complete basket coverage and impeccable distribution.

Additionally, the tool features an adjustable needle length, effortlessly customizable to fit virtually any 53mm and 54mm portafilter basket. The Weiss Distribution Technique (WDT) is a distribution method for espresso making. Using a fine needle or similar tool, by stirring the coffee while it sits in the portafilter. The stirring action breaks up any clumps, and evens out the density of coffee within the puck. The result is reduced channelling, and higher, more even extractions.

    Noticeably upped my shot flavour

    This one tool noticeably upped my shot flavor from my Breville Barista Pro. I’d been using a WDT tool for several months like I’d seen demonstrated on multiple YouTube videos, so I think I was using it correctly. I decided to give this a try in hopes it was quicker or at least give me more consistent results. After the first time using it after it was delivered, I noticed a more balanced shot flavor. The only thing changed in my workflow was using this rotary WDT tool instead of a small handheld WDT tool so I was reserving judgement because it could have been a fluke tasty shot. Now, about 5-6 tasty shots later, I believe this tool is consistently giving me tastier shots. The tool seems well made.

    Quality 3D printed product

    This is a quality item. Can't even tell it was 3D printed unlike most other rough 3D printed items where you can see all the layers. I am quite happy with it, just beware when placing it on top of your portafilter that one of the needles is not hanging off the side otherwise it will bend and need to be replaced. Luckily it came with several replacement needles.

    No channeling in the 13 espressos

    Everything was wonderful, good product quality, prompt shipping and you were kept up to date with status changes. There has been no channeling in the 13 espressos I have made since receiving the tool.
